The Item Selection Dialog

Used to select an item of a certain type (matrix, function...) from its tree.

Here we have some examples with matrix, function and template selection:

Matrix Selection Dialog

Function Selection Dialog

Template Selection Dialog

On the left side is the tree of the items of the required type (matrix, function, template...) in the project.
On the right side is the description of the currently selected item.
Selecting a different item on the tree makes its description appear on the right side.

Depending on the modality in which the dialog was opened, it can be that it shows only a subset of the items in the project (for example only the matrices with one column).

As with the trees in the Main Window, if you know at least a part of the name-package of the item, just write it on the search bar on the top of the tree and either press enter or click on the green arrow button. The first template matching the text in the search bar gets visualized and selected. Pressing enter or clicking on the green arrow button again the next matching template is selected, and so on.

If you don't find the item you want, you can create a new one (of the right type) using the New button on the bottom of the tree.
In this way you can, for example, create a function and its matrices all  from inside the function editor.

If you double-click an item or select it and click OK the dialog is closed and the item is returned.
If you click Cancel the dialog is closed and nothing is returned.

Template Selection

When selecting templates there is also the possibility to search the template by a text contained in its description.
In the menu over the template tree there is a Search choice:
Menu Select Template

Clicking on it the template search dialog appears, which allows you to find a template in the tree by its content.
